The infrared thermopile array sensor is manufactured using CMOS-MEMS technology and contains 256 thermopile elements in a 16x16 grid layout. It also integrates an ASIC signal processing circuit and can detect the absolute temperature of the object surface without touching the object being measured. It is available in both TO and SMD packages.
Compared with traditional single-point thermopile infrared sensors and pyroelectric sensors, this new product can not only detect moving human bodies and objects, but also detect the presence and position of immobile human bodies and objects, movement direction and precise surface temperature, and even detect the movement of human hands. It can be widely used in air conditioning, lighting, home and building HVAC control, traffic statistics, gesture recognition, etc.
